I find this funny.....
Recently renovated house on quiet block in Fishtown. Just a few minutes from the waterfront on Delaware Ave, a hop away from 2nd Street and the Piazza, and around the corner from the EL. This block has one of the best parking around.
Walk into an open, living room. Continue through to the large, dining room which has a door that leads to a basement. The kitchen has been recently updated with a full-sized washer and dryer for convenience and the back door provides access to the large rear yard with a new fence.
Once traveling upstairs, you will find one large bedroom and a smaller bedroom, both with closets. They are separated by the bathroom that has all new tile, ceiling and back-splash.
The attic is refinished and can be used as a third bedroom, playroom, office and studio. Our contractors are in the process of installing a brand-new roof.
Rent is $1195 and includes up to $50 of water usage. All other utilities are the responsibility of the tenant; gas heat and cooking and electric. Available for move-in August 1, 2009. First, last and security are required for move-in. Pets are welcome with a refundable pet deposit of $300.

I own too many clothes. It's un-fucking believable. And I just bought more! I think I have a problem.
Ah, this whole move thing hasn't even happened yet, and I'm stressed to the max. I still haven't purchased ANY of my furniture.
I was trying really REALLY really hard not to have to tap into my savings, but I think I'm going to have too. I don't get paid again til the 22nd, and I just wanna get all this stuff purchased.
I'm probably going to wind up dropping like $700-$800 on furniture. Even if I wasn't moving, I wanted to buy myself two new sets of drawers. One set is $150, the other set $180. And now....stupidly I've got my mind set on buying at least a full sized bed. So now I need a bed frame, box spring and a mattress. I was looking at my parents' bed today, and I pretty much realized there's no way in hell I need a queen sized bed. I think a full sized one will do. I'd like to be able to get all of that for under $500, which I know is pushing it. But IKEA has a bed frame for like under $200 and a box spring for under $100....what does a full size mattress cost?
I have a twin mattress, that I love, but I need a new bed frame and box spring regardless of the move, so I just decided it's stupid to buy stuff for a twin, when I can upgrade for slightly more.
Then on top of the furniture aspect, I need a new comforter, sheets, etc. and towels. But all that stuff can wait until I get paid again.
I'm stressing about money. There's no way in hell I'm letting my savings dwindle under $1,000. I refuse to touch anymore money.
I didn't wanna be living "paycheck to paycheck" with this move....and now I think I'm going to be for the first few months until I get caught up with things. IDK, seeing that $1650 taken out of my account for the first and last month's rent and the security deposit was a bit hard to swallow. I think it's just an adjustment I have to make.
I also seriously need to stop buying shit I don't need....ala more clothes and another pair of sneakers. I'm fucking retarded.
Once we get settled, yard stuff and a grill will be taken care of, but right now it's not a priority of mine to have that stuff by June 1st.
I'm also going to need a bunch of basics.....laundry detergent, toothpaste, soap, etc. etc. all that stuff. And then of course, there's food.

For better or worse, I took the plunge and put a request in for a shore house:
Pro's:
I like that we have both floors. It's a side-by-side.
4 bedrooms.
There's a ping-pong table.
It's specifically says "Will rent to groups"....while pretty much every other house says "Rent to Family" or "Rent to Family only"
Occupacy limit is 10 (Not that I'm going to have 10 people there lol) Do I know 10 people?
Golf cart? I don't know what that's all about but it's listed. Lmao.
38th street, walking distance to my aunt's house and a Wawa and the "boardwalk"
2 bathrooms.
Apparently they're also giving me beach equipment. Wooo.
Central Air.
Etc. Etc.
Con's:
It's more expensive than I'd like. The cheapest week is June 20th-27th, which is $2050, and I wasn't planning on staying in June.
So I wasn't thrilled about going in June, but it's the cheapest month, and Lauren can't go in August. July is peak season and some houses rent jumps $300-$400 in July from June.
I'm worried about the weather...since technically summer doesn't start til June 21st, even though, that really doesn't mean anything. We were down the shore last year like June 14th and it was UNGODLY hot, but the ocean temp. was very cold.
If this all goes thru, we will be staying June 20th-27th. It's going to cost me an arm and a leg, but I'm excited anyway.
I'm hoping maybe Kevin can come down for at least the weekend, because if he has to take another semester of classes, that semester would start June 22nd.
I hope Pokey and Renee and whoever else can come down too. FUCK SUMMER CAMP if you're even there. The invitation is there. And it's also extended to Taylor and Sara, even if Sara can only come down for a few days.

Digital Cameras
So I think I'm going to buy a new digital camera today. I've wanted a new one for a while, I didn't exactly wanna wait til the Christmas season with all the crazy shoppers, but whatever.
I don't really have a price range, except that I'd like to keep it under $250....more preferably at or under $200.
I'm obviously not a photographer, so it doesn't have to be an amazing camera.

They were $2,000 for the pair. Someone on one of the other floors was selling them. They were 200-level seats. To either Game 3, or Game 4. Apparently this person had two sets, but couldn't go to either game. The face value on the ticket was $1,250.
It would have drained my bank account, I would have been broke for 2 weeks at least, plus probably in a hole 'cause my student loans kick in next month, but I wanted to do it sooooooooo badly!
It sucks being responsible.
